Abstract: Announcement and short intro to edakrill, the http (and svn) based "cloud" library.

Edakrill is a sister project of pcb-rnd. It's a "gedasymbols.org clone", with a few very important differences:

• it's not geda-centric; I automtically convert data to all formats I can, e.g. footprints are available in lihata, tedax, geda .fp, kicad; I plan to do the same later with symbols too
• although the backing data store is svn, which makes it somewhat similar to gedasymbols, I am also providing web upload - so casual users uploading small amount of data won't need to use svn
• edakrill uses rich metadata, which makes searches much better

If you have custom footprints or symbols you made and would like to publish them, please send them to me in private or consider svn commiting them in the edakrill svn. It would be nice if we'd have a lot of resources readily available by the time I announce the new service - and that needs your contribution.
