The external glue layer is a separate small project called

It has <a href="http://www.repo.hu/projects/pcb-rnd-3dview/releases">stable releases</a>
or it can be checked out from svn using the command

</pre>

Once you have pcb-rnd-3dview source, please read its README and INSTALL.
