I think the rubber band doesn't respect the grid. It should.
 
Ade, could you please take a look? The minimal example Evan sent earlier 
in this thread demonstrates it perfectly: grab the horizontal line, move 
it up/down. Expected: the line snaps to grid points; what we get instead: 
the move ignores the grid and the line ends up between grid points.
