Sometimes myprojects require odd shaped outlines and this requires an outli= nelayer that can be created from an image. In the past I have used thefollo= wing steps with geda PCB: 1. Create image withinkscape; Select; Select solid fill; Stroke to path; sa= ve as eps 2. With geda PCB,correct outline location to top-left, save, edit copy to .= pcb 3. pstoedit -ssp -fpcb board-outline.eps board-outline.pcb 4. Text editresultant .pcb file and move from silk to outline layer There currently nocomparable process in pcb-rnd. Erichvk's inkscape2pcb scr= ipt looks promising but it has issues with artifacts, at least with .svg fi= lesthat have worked correctly for me with the pstoedit process described ab= ove. Svg is apparentlytoo complex for a pcb-rnd import plugin but possibly DXF i= s a goodcandidate. Being able to import a DXF shape directly into the outli= nelayer wood be, in my opinion, a boon for pcb-rnd. I would like to beable to do DXF outline importing into pcb-rnd as is shown= =C2=A0importing into KiCad=C2=A0in the videoat the link below.
