Subject: | [pcb-rnd] new: sch-rnd tutorial videos on devmap, portmap and heavy symbol |
Hi all, one of the challenges in sch editors is how to handle generic (light) symbol vs. heavy sybols. This problem is also known as "the transistor problem". The cschem model addresses this problem on two levels, and sch-rnd already implements both levels. We've just published three very short tutorial videos (~2 minutes in average) demonstrating all all three solutions to the problem (two light, one heavy). The videos are listed at: http://www.repo.hu/projects/sch-rnd/tutorial/ search for devmap, portmap and heavy symbol there. The good news is: we are not forced to build heavy symbol libraries, you can use a single npn transistor symbol to cover all transistors with different footprints and pinouts. But if you want, you can still build heavy symbols. I tried to make all three methods as easy to use as possible. Best regards, Igor2
