First task: please compile svn HEAD, at least r36545 then look at existing 
boards, without any modification, whether the new and old font rendering 
match.
 
The way you can switch between them is executing the action called brave; 
this will pop up a dialog where you can change the "newfont" row's 
checkbox. When it's on, you are using the new font rendering code, 
when off, the old code.
 
We are not interested in bugs in general. We are interested only in cases 
when the new code doesn't do exactly the same as the old code: text 
rendered differently, in copper text clearance calculated differently, all 
this happening on screen or in any of the exports. Rotated, scaled, 
mirrored text and combinations of these transformations are all 
interesting cases.
 
Note: the rendering _order_ of drawing objects changed with the new code, 
so you can't simply diff exported files.
 
Please report both if everything worked as expected and any difference.
 
(Please do not test fontedit or multifont support yet, there are are a few 
loose ends I need to handle in the new font code for that)
