Subject: | [pcb-rnd] sch-rnd short demo videos |
Hi all, sch-rnd is progressing fast but is still in alpha testing phase. I guess there are potential users here who do not spend their time compiling sch-rnd yet, but may be interested some time in the future, once it becomes stable. For them, the following 1..3 minute videos should show current state. https://archive.org/details/sch-rnd-0.8.1-lib https://archive.org/details/sch-rnd-0.8.1-menu https://archive.org/details/sch-rnd-0.8.1-prop-attr https://archive.org/details/sch-rnd-0.8.1-query I think the most important aspect to note is how similar the GUI looks and works to pcb-rnd's. Similar libraries, menus, similar query/search, similar property editor. The attribute editor and tree view of objects are different, because of the different data model. You can also observe in the lib video that sch-rnd offers parametric symbols, demonstrated with connector(). Just like in pcb-rnd, this saves us having to generate dozens of specific connector geometries just to find the other day that we don't happen to have an 57 pin variant readily available in the lib, when we need it. (These videos are no tutorials, you won't learn how to use sch-rnd from them, these are only demo videos to show how far we got.) Best regards, Igor2
