Whenever I want to test the alignment of components or the shape of a
design in a physical enclosure / environment. So reasonably often.

I don't, I trust my printer.  I also do 3D prints of the PCB sometimes to
better check the fit.

It's been a while, but I do still have the facilities for it if it's
needed. I haven't needed to recently, but I could do any day. It's less and
less worth it at the moment though.
