On those old UNIX systems you won't have an svn client at all - getting 
much simpler software to work is a challange already. Wnd sending mail 
on the modern internet is not that trivial either. For example one of my 
cable ISPs simply drop anything going out on port 25, because "the only 
reason for sending mail from a cable box is spam".
 
Please note: I'm coding this not for CEC, but for ST and MS. For CEC, I 
have a different script and different requirements. I expect we'd have 
only a few CECs, and we can choose systems and hosting where we can do 
what we need to for a CEC. The complicated thing is required for ST/MS, 
because they will run on real obscure systems and potentially behind 
firewalls where the only real good assumption is outgoing web would work.
