sorry about the long list. I will ask one question, or cluster of
related questions, at a time in future.
 
your replies have solved 85% of this I think
 
I will work through the list and respond individually for anything I'm
still struggling with.
 
I'm starting to appreciate the depth and power that exists in pcb-rnd.
It is very good in many ways. However like most linux/unix style
environments it relies on a lot of detailed and specific memory and
knowledge to use quickly. I'm concerned I will forget it all if I stop
using it for a while.
 
I think i will make a quick access chart of the most important functions
for me.
 
I sent my first PCB for manufacture today!
