Last time I checked them:

I think they have some internal tool and format they use to produce they
footprints (and symbols and other data). I think this internal model is
richer than the data model of the EDA tools they export to - sort of what
we do with pcb-rnd's data model, a superset of the others.

I think they do not share the internal model or the tools. So the only
chance to get lihata (or tEDAx) support is to convince them to code it. I
don't say it's impossible, but knowing our market coverage and knowing how
much effort it takes to code such a converter _properly_, I wouldn't have
high hopes. Nevertheless, my policy is, and always have been: I fully
support such cooperations; as a pcb-rnd power user, if you want to use
such a workflow, you are in the best position to start this cooperation.
Contanct them, figure if they are open in general. If they are, I am too,
and I can support them coding their stuff.

On the ringdove side, I prefer edakrill to spaneda. We could spin it up if
we could get users like you to start sharing footprints and symbols on
edakrill. What snapeda seems to provide over edakrill:

1. they have a large collection - but we can have a large collection too,
if people submit their footprints

2. they have a service so that if you pay, they draw you the footprint -
but we surely can have that too, there are pcb-rnd user freelancers on
this list

3. they have self defined standards, I think they do all their material to
follow those, so you know what to expect - but if there are enough
_active_ contributors in edakrill, we can make our own standards too and
just tag the footprints/symbols that comply with specific standards with
the ID of the standard, so we can very easily have the same.
