Note that wireframe draw ("|") also does funny things, but at least it
gives an error message:
error: aperture for width 0 type ROUND is null
and does not create the Gerber file.
Whether you consider this a bug or not is up to you. As well as the
timing (before/after release). With an error message and no Gerber file
creation, it is less likely to cause subtle errors.
