Subject: | [pcb-rnd] new: web switchover from fp to lihata |
Hi all, we have a web service, since 2015, that lets the user explore the small default footprint library we ship with pcb-rnd (called pcblib): http://igor2.repo.hu/cgi-bin/pcblib-param.cgi and http://igor2.repo.hu/cgi-bin/pcblib-static.cgi Back in 2015 it all started with geda/pcb's fp format. Later on we switched to our new native file format, lihata subcircuit. Recently we have finally switched over the files in pcblib from fp to lihata. Today I managed to switch over the above web services too. This means we got rid of the legacy fp format files from our default distributon and web pages. Although it won't change anyone's daily routine, this is still a milestone. Note: this does not mean we would remove support for the fp file format. It only means our own footprints are coming in our own native file format, not in some alien format, both in the distribution and in associated material (e.g. web page). Best regards, Igor2
