Hi all,
 
every few years I sit down to try a cross compilation again. This year I 
ditched mpk (minipak) and just downloaded gtk2 and all dependencies from 
source and cross-compiled manually.
 
So far it seems it all worked - much better than last time.
 
If you have windows at hand, at least version 7, please try the beta test 
pack:

It doesn't need admin rights, it doesn't install anything globally, no 
registry, no environment, just a zip with the exe and dlls.
 
Please do report if it worked or if it failed, with the following header:
 
- Windows version (e.g. windows 10)
 
- Windows subversion (e.g. Pro, Home, etc, if available)
 
- Language of your windows installation + keyboard layout
 
- Architecture (e.g. x86 32 bit or x86_64 or arm)
 
If it gets enough testing and we see it doesn't fail too much, we may 
start having beta test releases with the next stable release (end of Oct). 
 
(FYI, gtk2 and its dependencies are implemented in about 2 million SLOC, 
while pcb-rnd with libfawk and scconfig included is about 121k SLOC. So in 
2019 it takes about 16x more code to draw buttons on the screen than to 
have a modular, interactive, graphical scriptable printed circuit board 
editor)
