The delete key operates on the object under the cursor and ignores=20
selection. This is not new, this is inherited from PCB and worked like=20
this in the past 15+ years.

Yup, those work too. Or select the object and use the 'remove selected'=20
feature. Especially useful if you did a programmatic select (advanced=20
search or query() or some user script selecting objects or external=20
script edited your file to get some objects selected).
