Subject:[pcb-rnd] POLL: place order feature - urgent
replies: 3098 from TQ Hirsch <th...@thequux.com> , 3099 from ka...@aspodata.se , 3101 from Edward Comer <ec...@yahoo.com> , 3102 from gene glick <ge...@gmail.com> , 3104 from Dave McGuire <mc...@neurotica.com> , 3106 from miloh <fr...@gmail.com> , 3107 from John Griessen <jo...@cibolo.com> , 3115 from ge...@igor2.repo.hu
Hi all,

this is a poll. Please answer each question with a positive integer
between 1 and 5. 1 means "absolutely no or least favorable or strongly
disagree", 3 means "don't care or neutral", 5 means "absolutely yes, I
love it or strongly agree".

IMPORTANT: Please answer every question with such a number, and DO NOT
write comments, explanations, "but"'s, etc - I want to make an objective
evaluation based on the data so I need a single integer for each question.
If your reply fails to meet this requirement at any answer, I will discard
the whole mail. (For discussion and comments, please use the other
thread.) There is no way to change your vote - once you sent me a mail,
that's your vote and subsequent new votes will be ignored. Answer every
question, if one is missing, I have to discard the whole mail.

You can answer on the list or in private. I am in contact with a popular
fab about this topic, so I need the result fast and will have to close
this poll in a few days.

If there are more than 3 answers, anonimised (statistical) results will be
published on the mailing list.

YOU are the target audience of this poll. Please answer even if you don't
fab a lot (there's a question about it so I can weight votes if I want
to).

Questions:

1. would you use a 'place order' feature in pcb-rnd? [1..5]

2. do you use pcb-rnd a lot offline (with no internet connection)? [1..5]

3. do you get your boards professionally fabbed? [1..5]

4. how many different _new_ boards do you design a year in average (not
necessarily only with pcb-rnd)? [1=none, 2=1..2, 3=3..5, 4=6..9, 5=more
than 9]

5. do you get more than 3 different designs (not necessarily drawn in
pcb-rnd) professionally fabbed a year in average? [1=none, 2=1..2, 3=3..5,
4=6..9, 5=more than 9]

6. if pcb-rnd didn't support your favorite fab, would you contact them and
ask them to publish an API for quotation/placing orders? [1..5]

7. if there are 2 very similar fabbing offers on the market for your next
board, would you prefer the fab that has a 'place order' integration in
pcb-rnd? How strong relevance this factor would have in your choice?
[1..5]

8. would you invest (a couple of hours in developer requested/coordinated
testing, or a few $ of donation) to get your favorite fab supported in a
pcb-rnd 'place order' feature? [1..5]

9. if tomorrow your favorite fab is supported, but the plugin is marked as
'beta testing', would you give it a try on ordering a production board?
[1..5]

10. is a non-GUI version important (e.g. would you want to get a quote or
even place an order from a Makefile)? [1..5]

TIA,

Igor2
