|Roles in pcb-rnd:||developer, tester, user|
As an Integrated Circuit design engineer, I am using IC-CAD softwares (EDA) a lot. As a young engineer, I dove in gEDA/PCB, and was amazed by the capabilities of such "small" projects, compared to commercial ones... Moreover, they were open source projects ! I then started to learn how our fellow predecessors did manage to deliver those tools to users.
Now, as a slightly older engineer, I feel sorry about the decline of gEDA/PCB, and think it is time to give back to the open source community. I joined pcb-rnd, because I felt it was still a "human" manageable project, and because, clearly, it was the place to develop the old PCB software I used to know.
My introduction e-mail to the project was about GTK3: how to make pcb-rnd compiles with it ? I hope to deliver this... and much more, as part of the team.
I do not have a regular pattern for development hours, nor a large presence on IRC. I might be reached via the pcb-rnd mailing list.
Feel free to contact me, as the other team members, if you have pcb-rnd related questions or problems.
